Properties ofPROMPT NATURAL CEMENT
Durability in marine environment
The mineralogical composition and low porosity of PROMPT natural cement give it durability properties against salt spray, seawater, and sulfated water with a pH higher than 4. It also complies with the NF P15-314 standard "cement for marine works," obtained after tests over more than 60 years.
This proven resistance to seawater, combined with its waterproofing properties, rapid setting, and hardening, makes it the ideal binder for work between tides, emergency interventions, or even in total immersion, such as in dyke construction, seawalls, embankments, boat ramps, ramparts, and any other construction exposed to the sea.
Furthermore, natural cement PROMPT Vicat has the unique characteristic of being complementary to lime due to its unique mineralogy. This allows for the creation of "lime/PROMPT" mortars suitable for historic coastal heritage restoration. The combination of these two binders further enhances the durability of these mortars, which can be used for jointing, plastering, stone installation, and masonry reinforcement.
